Office of the Fire Marshal
The Fire Marshal's Office performs the following duties:

Conducts fire and life safety inspections of buildings within the fire district to address violations and develop pre-fire response plans.

Works jointly with the State of New York and the Town of Islip for enforcement of the State Fire Prevention and Building Codes.

Responsible for updating the building, response and pre-fire plan information in the fire district’s computer aided dispatch (CAD) system.

Conducts investigations to determine the origin and cause of fires within the Brentwood Fire District.

Acts as a liaison between the Brentwood Fire District, Brentwood Fire Department and Code Enforcement Officials.

Provides technical support to the Brentwood Fire Department and Hazardous Materials Response Team during hazardous materials incidents
