Office of the Fire Marshal 

The Fire Marshal's Office performs the following duties:

  • Conducts fire and life safety inspections of buildings within the fire district to address violations and develop pre-fire response plans.

  • Works jointly with the State of New York and the Town of Islip for enforcement of the State Fire Prevention and Building Codes.

  • Responsible for updating the building, response and pre-fire plan information in the fire district’s computer aided dispatch (CAD) system.

  • Conducts investigations to determine the origin and cause of fires within the Brentwood Fire District.

  • Acts as a liaison between the Brentwood Fire District, Brentwood Fire Department and Code Enforcement Officials.

  • Provides technical support to the Brentwood Fire Department and Hazardous Materials Response Team during hazardous materials incidents
